Following Events and Activities were held in the year 2016:

Support Group Meeting 12 Jan 2016

Families of our patients gathered on 12 Jan, 2016 to discuss various techniques adopted by them to combat various situations thrown up by their patients at home. The meeting was coordinated by our Counselors. It proved a very fruitful meeting as lot of ideas were shared to be adopted.

Founder’s Day 8 Mar, 2016

Our Founder’s Day was observed by organizing a picnic for our patients and their families. It was one of the happiest moments for the participants and one could see lively expressions on the faces of patients. They took active part in all the games. It was a very satisfying experience for the members of the chapter, staff members, guests and family members of the patients.


Interactive Sessions

Awareness talks were organized at Sukhdev Vihar and Yamuna Vihar on 18 Jan, 2016 and 17 Feb, 2016 respectively. Participants took keen interest and asked lot of doubts which were cleared by the speakers.

Holi Celebrations

Festival of Colours was celebrated in our Day Care Centre one day before Holi. Our patients were surprised at the range of colours and sweets. They thoroughly enjoyed the day with our staff and treated the colours as their new toys.

Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated in our Day Care Center by our staff with the patients.


World Alzheimer’s Month 2016

Following activities were carried out towards World Alzheimer’s Month:-

Rahagiri (18 Sep, 2016)

Like every year pamphlets and other material related to Alzheimer’s Disease and Services provided by Delhi Chapter were distributed on 18 Sep, 2016 during Rahagiri Event at Connaught Place.

This year perhaps due to enhanced awareness, lot of people came to us to find out about Delhi Chapter’s activities and services we offer. It was heartening to see that more and more people are getting enlightened about Alzheimer’s Disease.

Radio Programme (20-21 Sep, 2016)

There were radio talks regarding Alzheimer’s on FM Channels. The talks were aired as follows:-

  • FM Rainbow – Citilights – 20 Sep, 2016 (5 pm to 6 pm).
  • FM Rainbow – Good Morning India – 21 Sep, 2016 (7 am to 9 am).

There after lot of calls from office places in the ………. were received.

TV Programme (18 Sep, 2016)

DD News carried a programme on Alzheimer’s Disease under “Total Health” on Sunday 8:30 am. It was a live telecast. Dr Vinod Kumar and Mrs Renu Vohra of Delhi Chapter and Dr Padma Srivastava of the AIIMS were panelists while DD News anchored. The programme was received very well by the listeners from all over India. Innumerable calls from various states and cities were received by the panelists and it ended as a Radio Counseling Session.

World Alzheimer’s Day (Evening Event 21 Sep, 2016)

The main event of World Alzheimer’s Day was held at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Center on 21 Sep, 2016 at 6 pm. The event was attended by various stake holders and general public totaling up to 120 participants. The programme was structured keeping in mind this year’s theme “Remember Me”.

Mrs Renu Vohra opened the proceeding of the evening by inviting our President, Dr Manjari Tripathi, to give her welcome address and release World Alzheimer’s Day 2016. Souvenir.

There after Dr Manjari Tripathi with Dr Vinod Kumar released a book on Alzheimer named “VISMRIT”, written by one of our volunteers, Ms Bina Berry.

Next Dr Vinod Kumar was invited to deliver his talk on “Healthy Ageing Beyond Health”. His talk was a much awaited one where he elaborated on Life Threatening Diseases and Diseases Causing Discomfort. He made his talk very interesting by giving every day’s examples and painting practical scenarios. Every one relished his talk. It was most important for the audience to understand this aspect of life.

Dr Vinod Kumar’s talk was followed by a session of Yoga and Meditation conducted by Mr Santosh Yoga. His lecture on the subject was very enlightening and refreshing specially when he made the audience do meditation and simple yoga exercises along with him.

Both these talks were very useful for today’s life specially for Senior Citizens and were very well received.

Delhi Chapter had a special privilege to honor Mrs Indira Mahalanobis who has been rendering selfless service by giving Music Therapy to the patients at our Day Care Center. In appreciation to her devotion towards our center, Dr Manjari Tripathi presented her with a memento.

Next programme was Interactive Session. Dr Vinod Kumar, Dr Manjari Tripathi and Dr KS Anand were the panelists. Questions of the audience were replied with full authority and to the satisfaction of everyone by these experts.

Documentary Film

NDTV very graciously made a documentary of our organization which was telecast on various NDTV News Channels and other programs. The highlight of the film was our Day Care Center and also inputs provided by the families of patients. One can watch the film on the following link.



Visitors at our Center

  1. Visit by a delegation comprising medical personnel from Egypt on 29 July 2016. The visit was coordinated by The Cancer Society, New Delhi. To familiarize the delegates about the Alzheimer’s Disease, a talk on AD was given and they were also explained the working of the Day Care Center.
  2. Visit by a team of Hindustan Times reporters – 31 July 2016.
  3. Visit by Max India Foundation – 15 September 2016.
